Burnout

I talked to this thing inside me for a long time. I doubted it for a long time, tried to run away from it, to ignore it. And yet, it was there, always there.

She watched me in silence, waiting for me in the shadows. She was my burden, my silent companion, and sometimes she is still there, in the background of my existence.

This thing I call burnout is the monster of darkness, a bottomless pit that seems to swallow you whole. For some, it is the devil personified, an implacable force that consumes everything in its path. For others, it is a tentacled, insidious monster that smothers every bit of light in you.

It eats away at you, devours you slowly. It takes everything from you: your bearings, your strengths, your clarity of mind. It infiltrates you, burning everything in its path, like a voracious fire that consumes even the soul. It is injustice, suffering , the incomprehension of oneself. But for some, it is also a tipping point , a possibility of rebirth.

For me, this injustice was my rebirth. It was a brutal fall that pushed me to get up, different, stronger, truer. It was a birth, a second chance, a light in the heart of darkness. It awakened in me an immense desire for transformation: to become a better version of myself, to be aligned with my values , to live in harmony with my convictions.

I faced this monster. I looked it in the face, not without pain, not without fear. But in this fight, I found something invaluable: the strength to be fully me.

This thing made me invincible. It freed me from the expectations of others, from illusions and pretenses. It brought me back to the essential, to this inner truth that I had forgotten. It allowed me to redefine who I am and what I want to be.

Today, I no longer see this thing as an enemy . I see it as a mirror, a brutal but necessary revealer. Thanks to it, after years of introspection, work, and resilience, I finally know who I am.

And perhaps that is the real triumph: transforming darkness into light, falling into flight, and burnout into a powerful cry of rebirth.
